How to take care of your Hair and Scalp during Winter

Winter can be a harsh season for your scalp and hair. The cold, dry air outside and the heated air inside can strip your scalp and hair of their natural oils, leading to dryness, flakiness, and even dandruff.

Here are some tips to help you take care of your scalp and hair during the winter season:

  1. Keep your scalp healthy: It’s important to keep your scalp healthy! Whether you have an oily or dry scalp, there are products that can address your specific needs for when it comes to battling different seasons..
  2. Protect your hair from the cold: When you’re outside in the cold, make sure to cover your hair with a hat or scarf to protect it from the harsh elements. This will help to retain moisture in your hair and prevent breakage. Also utilizing products for the strands that help protect from harsh weathers can help prevent damage.
  3. Avoid using heat styling tools: The heat from styling tools can strip your hair of its natural oils and cause damage. If you must use heat styling tools, make sure to use a heat protectant spray and keep the heat setting at a lower temperature.
  4. Deep condition your hair: Deep conditioning your hair once a week can help to nourish and hydrate your hair, leaving it looking and feeling healthy. This is especially important for clients that chemically process, have naturally curly and/or textured hair, and who use hot tools frequently.

By following these winter hair care tips, you can help to protect your scalp and hair from the harsh winter elements and keep it looking and feeling its best.
